In the Underworld, I'm having a lot of trouble killing coldfire nights as my 55 (with a ss/sv partner) I really get inturrupted a lot and need some help.
Thanks

IF you actually aggro them (just evading most will be easier in most cases..), you should tell your necro to stay back. make all of them (3 per group?) cast maelstrom at the start, keep moving out. once all of them are used, the necro can go on SSing them. once you see that they use it again, tell him to go back again and evade again. if he stays in their aggro bubble youll have a lesser chance to move so you wont lose aggro, which youd probably lose anyways, and in the end its the crap monk. <.<
so..evade them, and if not, evade their maelstrom.

Or just switch your secondary to elementalist or mesmer and bring glyph of concentration/mantra of resolve, Bonettis isn't really that needed.

As the 55 it depends on whether you are taking SOJ or SB as your elite. I necro with a SB 55 guildmate and if he gets SB up it makes the first X amount of spells fail from the coldfires (providing they are aimed at him). This usually gets the first round maelstroms interrupted, meanwhile I'm SS'ing like crazy from afar. This seems to work quite well, and I'm glad to see SB taking on here as opposed to SOJ, makes for a quicker cleaner run.

Actually, Bonetti's is needed if you want to tank multiple mobs. If you're sticking to one mob at a time I suppose you can use GoC/MoR, but if you intend to speed-run you're going to need Bonetti's.

No you don't... if you intend to speed run get yourself a Dual SB + Smiter combo. Or my personal favourite, the Dual SB SS/Smiter combo. Modified for ownage

You'd be surprised... The number of times i've been in ToA and seen necros asking specifically for 'LF 55 Monk with Spellbreaker' is quite worrying.

Yeah, I once had a monk with balthazars aura, symbol of wrath, bane signet with him. Luckily he was smart enough to use spell breaker, but he died because his only healing spells was his protective spirit and healing breeze. He also used 4 enchants without blessed signet so I had to keep feeding him energy. Oh well atleast I got my 1 glob out of the few aatxes we killed.

The coldfires are pretty easy. The last group of smites are normally very close to 2 colds that patrol, just run in and grab the lot of them. Cast PS and SB just before you aggro then HB. You will have lots of energy from the smites hitting you and the SS necro focuses on taking out the colds first. They should die in the time that SB is running (about 20 secs for me).
I try to avoid them though since they don't drop the ecto that I crave

Spell Breaker before you run in. SS will kill them quick enough before they have chance to cast Maelstrom for a second time. Even if they do cast it, simply move out of its AoE.

Cool, thanks alot for all your help.
I actually just thought of using Mantra of Resove, but it says that when u would get inturrupted, I would lose like 10 energy, meaning, no enrgy=(
But still, thanks evryone and ill go try it today (if we ever get favor) and see how it works.

yeah.....coldfires are pretty simple to kill...cast sb then prot spirit, healing breeze is not necessary because half their skills would be interrupted but if SB does wear off and they are still attking u u can cast healing breeze if they cast maelstrom on u and ur running low on energy just cast blessed signet (if u use it) since it is a signet and maelstrom only affects skills

Well, the initial post was talking about 55/SS, which is why I mentioned bonetti's. But yeah, the Dual SB/Smiter combo can tank limitlessly.
Speaking of which, whats the SS/Smiter? Same as regular smiter but drops holy wrath to use SS for casters?
